If you ever use a news reader from Apple, or just browse for news stories on the web. Every once in a while you come across an article you really want to read and get stopped dead in your tracks by the dreaded paywall message.
"You must subscribe to read this content"
Now some sites are actually removing the paywall from their content letting everyone access it for free during the crisis. But if not you may try this simple trick before you give up and close the page.
Here is how it works. In the browser address bar, just place a period after the link like this: www.nytimes.com.
And even if there are extra letters or characters after the com/newsarticle-thats-blocked.html the period still needs to after the com like this example for this to work: com./newsarticle-thats-blocked.html
Often it's all that is needed to access the site and continue onto the page.
