If you own a Roku TV and get annoyed when a little ad window box pops up right on the screen while a show or movie is playing, then you will love this Roku user tip.

These are ads from companies that have an agreement with Roku to allow these on Roku TVs. The good news is for now, Roku still let you turn them off.

This only happens on Roku Televisions and not on Roku standalone media players, such as a Roku Ultra, Roku Express or Roku Streaming Stick.

To Turn Off Pop-up In Show Ads on a Roku TV Do This

Using your remote on your Roku Powered Television, in your menu go to: Settings > Privacy > Smart TV Experience. Disable the “Use info from TV inputs."

This will turn off those little annoying pop-up ads. And that will definitely make it a happier Roku Experience. 8-)

*Side note: If the ads don't really bother you, leave them on. It helps Roku earn a little extra money from advertisers, which is really how they earn a living. If they just relied on sales of their media streamers and TVs the company would go broke. Then you would need to go out and buy a Fire TV or Apple TV instead. And many would then miss out all together on the Roku experience.
