When Verizon wanted to speak to viewers of the recent (2019) Oscars broadcast in Spanish, ABC had to change its rules to make it happen. Now the Disney-owned network (ABC) is willing to do it again...

Most TV networks will consider running ads in different languages, according to people familiar with their policies. NBCUniversal and Viacom, for example, evaluate commercials on a case-by-case basis. Fox Broadcasting does the same, along with whether to require the use of subtitles.
From the Roku Home Screen go to Settings/System/Language and a sub-menu will open to let you select your preferred language.
What if your Roku is showing the menus in a Language you don't understand?
If the Roku menus are in Japanese, Greek, or another language you can't decipher, then let's try Plan B.
PLAN B:
1. On your Roku Remote press the Home button and then press the up arrow button.
2. The Settings be shown and it does not matter which language is showing on your Roku. Just click on OK to select it.
3. Press the up arrow once again to open the Roku System options menu. Press OK again.
4. Now press the down arrow (2X) two times and then click OK.
5. The Language options screen will now be open. The first language shown should be English. Highlight it and press OK.
