With the recent price increase of YouTube TV, a live Cable Like Streaming service that was meant to replace expensive cable TV alternatives. It's getting rather ridiculous to continue supporting the live-streaming cable TV platform.

If the current trend continues, soon we will be paying $100 a month to watch TV through our router rather than a cable TV box.

We watched YouTube TV quickly go from $35 to $50 and now $65 a month. Which is almost double in just a few years. And the sad part is there is not that all that much great stuff to watch for what you are paying.

Fortunately, when we cut the cord, we also cut out advertisement riddled live TV channels as well. And have watched TV mostly from Netflix, and occasionally from an Antenna.

So our monthly cost for television programming is only $12.99/month. And guess what, we have never run out of stuff yet to watch. Plus, Netflix is 100% commercial free.

So the time spent fast forwarding through commercials on shows we recorded from cable on our DVR allows us extra time for other things we enjoy doing like spending time with our family, or reading.

Live TV Dumping May Be The Next Step in the Cord Cutting Evolution

Until we vote with our wallets and say enough is enough, the big content providers will continue to blatantly increase prices. Why? Because they know their customers will continue to pay for it, until they don't.

Cutting the cord started out as an affordable alternative, and it still can be. But to do it effectively, it will require changing our collective mindset. And truly seeing Live TV as the Porsche, Ferrari or Lexus of television viewing. A luxury many of us can simply no longer afford.

Best Free Alternatives to Live Cable TV Channels

Try these free channels on your Roku, Android or Apple TV Media streamers. They offer some incredible free content that will quickly make you forget about paying $65/month for cable type streaming channels.

Until content providers allow us to pick and choose lower priced $20/month channel bundles. With the channels we actually want to watch rather than forcing a large group of unwanted channels on us we don't watch.

The time has come to just say NO to overpriced bloated live TV bundles to get just a few channels worth watching.
