Amazon Fire TV devices are promised four years of software updates

Software updates are a big deal in the Android World
No one enjoys buying a media streamer only to find it outdated 6 months later when a newer model comes out. This is quite common with many cheaper Chinese made Android Streaming boxes. Nvidia has been great about keeping their SHIELD TV media streamers current with software updates and security fixes. Including their older models which are discontinued and no longer sold today.
