They were dirt cheap, worked reasonably well, and most importantly since they ran on an Android operating system they were easily used for sideloading popular TV apps for streaming and watching free copyrighted content often found online.

This may all be ending soon as Amazon announced plans to develop and implement a new Vega OS that takes them away from Android. You can only imagine...
