Billions of users have installed android apps for working, playing, communicating, and creating on not only phones and tablets but also TVs and cars.
Today, Google announced they are releasing the first Developer Preview of Android 12, the next version of Android. So let's kick the tires a bit and see what this new bad boy OS offers to Android users.
Google has been working hard to make their OS smarter, easier to use, and better performing, with and emphasis on privacy and security.
Android 12 now has new tools for developers to build an even better user experience.
Here is what's new:
- Compatible media transcoding - this lets apps use and work with the latest video formats.
- Copy/paste of rich content - which makes it easier to add images and videos into apps.
- Additional Privacy protection - additional focus placed on keeping Android users' data private.
- Optimized Performance - to make Android apps more responsive.
Since this is only a quick look at the very first release of Android 12, we can expect the software to go more developer releases before they release it in its finished form.
