When 2020 ended, Apple TV+ has reached 40 Million Subscribers according to a recent report from the analysis firm Statista.

Now the question begs to be asked, how many of those 40 million subscribers are actually paying for their subscription?

Because unlike any other streaming service, Apple has been most generous offering anyone who bought one of their many products a free one year subscription.

Then they extended that free year by another 7 months till this July when a large majority of customers will have a decision to make. To they continue their subscription at the cost of 4.99 a month in the US. They also offer the annual subscription plan which is $49.99/year.

Since there is not yet as much content available on Apple TV+ as some other popular streaming services, these numbers could decrease dramatically in July.

How does Apple's Streaming Service Compare To Peacock, Disney+, and Others?

Recent numbers show Disney+ with 100 million subscribers. Which is not surprising, when you see the extensive amount of content available on their platform.

Peacock reached 33 Million, and Paramount Plus which incudes CBS All Access now has 36 million subscribers.

Hulu which has been around much longer only has 39.4 million subs. And Netflix is the over all subscriber champion with 207.64 paying customers.
