Christmas is fast approaching in just three weeks and with it, a marathon of classic holiday movies and TV shows to maximize the holiday cheer.
One such iconic film, "Frosty the Snowman," will hit the airwaves of NBC this year, marking its first departure from CBS since it premiered 55 years ago.
Based on the song originally sung by Gene Autry and the Cass County Boys in 1950, "Frosty the Snowman" tells the story of a snowman who magically comes to life thanks to an enchanted hat, befriending the neighborhood children and embarking on a journey to get to the North Pole before the weather gets too warm, causing him to melt.
In the film, he and one of the local children, Karen, are pursued by a greedy magician hoping to steal the mystical hat from Frosty's head.
