Just a handful of popular programs, with a long shelf life, can financially compensate for dozens of failed shows coming from studios and producers. For example, to this day, Seinfeld, which has been out of production for 25 years, has generated billions of dollars for those involved on the program, coming from licensing fees across various video platforms. Seeking revenue, a few studios have reverted back to licensing program on rival Netflix.
