Streaming TV features ads almost everywhere, and it’s only going to get worse

In its earliest days, one of the biggest draws for cord cutting was the ability to watch your favorite TV shows without commercials.



Back then, you didn’t have many choices for watching online. Netflix, Amazon Prime (which didn’t yet have original programming), Apple’s iTunes and Hulu were about it. Commercials weren’t part of the equation and, in fact, Netflix executives once famously declared that you’d never find ads on their service.
Well, we know better now. Never say never, right?
