Now you will need to use other apps on your Playstation to buy or watch movies.

For those still using their PlayStations to rent movies from the Sony PlayStation Store, this will soon end. Sony is getting out of the movie and TV episode rental business.

There are still plenty of other apps to rent or watch movies and shows for free on a PS4, or PS5.

These apps are all available on the platform and all have plenty of choices for TV episode binge watchers or for watching a good flick.

Just be sure to add some of these popular apps to your PS4 and bring plenty of popcorn. Some will require a subscription, (S) and some are free to watch with ads (F).

Amazon Prime Video (S)
HBO MAX (S)
Disney+ (S)
Hulu (S)
Funimation (F)
Crunchyroll (F)
Crackle (F)
Pluto TV (F)
Popcorn Flix (F)
Peacock TV (S and F)
Plex (F)
Spotify (F and S)
Tubi TV (F)
VUDU (Rentals and Free Content)
