ATSC 3.0 is the new and improve standard for watching TV with an antenna. The good news is your current antenna will work fine, so no dangerous trips up on the roof. But you will need to have a TV that has an ATSC 3.0 ready TV tuner. Or it will require an external box like a HDHomeRun or one from another vendor to tune in these new upgraded channels.
The new broadcast standard will offer 4K Ultra High Definition ATSC 3.0 broadcasts. It will be a major improvement in other ways as well.
