The common denominator is these phones all use a Qualcomm Snapdragon Chip, and this was a precautionary measure due to 'Serious and Unresolved Security Vulnerabilities'
Last August, Check Point Research (CPR) found over 400 vulnerabilities on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon DSP (Digital Signal Processor) chip which posed a threat to the usability of mobile phones.
Qualcomm is the world’s top chip manufacturer and is the primary source for over 40% of the mobile phone market. This includes the top-end Android phones from Google, Samsung, LG, Xiaomi and OnePlus.
